The Israel Land Authority has permitted the plan for vacating a lot of the naval base south of Eilat and can market 400 properties and 600 lodge rooms on the land. Vacating the bottom will start in 18 months and happen in 4 phases making the land on the southern entrance to the Purple Sea resort accessible for tourism and leisure.
The bottom extends over each side of Street 90. The upper floor on the western part of the bottom protecting 20.75 acres can be used for housing. On the jap aspect of the freeway the naval base can be lowered from 18 acres to 13 acres with 5 acres alongside the Purple Coastline vacated for lodges.
Eilat already has 11,000 lodge rooms with few new lodges constructed in recent times regardless of the excessive demand and which would scale back costs for rooms.
