Ventura County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of homicide, mayhem and torture in connection together with his girlfriend’s dying on Christmas Eve, authorities stated.
Saul Nava, the lady’s live-in boyfriend, was taken into custody on the couple’s Thousand Oaks condo, in line with a press release from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Division. Authorities stated it was an incident of home violence.
Deputies responded to an emergency name at about 1:18 a.m. Friday on the condo advanced, on the nook of McCloud Avenue and Hillcrest Drive, stated sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Lohman.
Upon arrival, police discovered the sufferer, who was unresponsive, with “vital accidents all through her physique,” Lohman stated. Lifesaving measures by emergency personnel have been unsuccessful and the 24-year-old was pronounced useless on the scene.
Investigators discovered proof that the sufferer had been tortured earlier than her dying, authorities stated.
Nava is being held at Ventura County jail on suspicion of three felony costs in lieu of a $2-million bail, jail data present. His arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 28.
