Buckingham Palace says that Prince Andrew’s navy affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to Queen Elizabeth II together with her “approval and settlement.”
“With the queen’s approval and settlement, the Duke of York’s navy affiliations and royal patronages have been returned to the queen,” Buckingham Palace mentioned in an announcement. “The Duke of York will proceed to not undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a non-public citizen.”
A U.S. district choose on Wednesday refused to dismiss a civil case towards Andrew by an American girl, Virginia Giuffre, who alleges the royal sexually abused her when she was 17.
District Choose Lewis A. Kaplan rejected an argument by Andrew’s legal professionals that Giuffre’s lawsuit needs to be thrown out at an early stage due to an outdated authorized settlement she had with Jeffrey Epstein, the financier she claims arrange sexual encounters with the prince.
He pressured that he wasn’t ruling on the reality of the allegations.
Andrew’s legal professionals have mentioned that the royal by no means sexually abused or assaulted Giuffre and that he “unequivocally denies Giuffre’s false allegations towards him.”
