NYPD looking for scooter thieves robbing pedestrians

Thieves on scooters are zooming as much as unsuspecting pedestrians and, in a matter of seconds, swiping 1000’s of {dollars} value of gold chains earlier than taking off, in accordance with the NYPD.

Police are investigating 5 such robberies between March 18 and April 17 within the Bronx and Manhattan.

The primary theft occurred at 12:38 p.m. March 18, when two males on a black scooter approached a 47-year-old man on East Fordham Highway in Fordham Heights and ripped an $8,000 gold chain from his neck, police mentioned.

About 20 minutes later that very same day, a 42-year-old man was standing in entrance of 516 West 181st St. in Washington Heights when a person on a black scooter rode as much as him, confirmed a gun and grabbed gold chains value $10,000 from his neck, police mentioned.

At about 4:30 p.m. March 20, a person on a black scooter grabbed two gold chains value $500 from a 30-year-old lady crossing Tiebout Avenue and East Fordham Highway in Fordham Heights.

On March 21, 2022, at about 12:50 p.m. a 30-year-old man on the intersection of Wadsworth Avenue and West a hundred and eightieth Avenue in Washington Heights was robbed of two gold chains value $2,000. The thief was on a black scooter, police mentioned.

Surveillance video reveals the scooter driver using up on the sidewalk, taking the chain after which taking off because the sufferer tries to run after him.

One other sufferer, a 62-year-old man standing in entrance of 991 Southern Blvd. within the Foxhurst part of the Bronx at 1:30 p.m. March 23, was robbed of gold chains value $6,600 by a person on a black scooter, police mentioned.

The robberies occurred between March 18 and April 17.

A person on a black scooter yanked two gold chains value $4,000 from a 46-year-old man strolling close to 965 Southern Blvd. at 11:30 a.m. April 17.

The entire alleged thieves have been carrying all-black clothes, police mentioned.
