Five fraternity brothers sentenced in Ohio student’s hazing death

Three former fraternity members had been sentenced Thursday to jail time and two others got home arrest within the 2021 hazing loss of life of a Bowling Inexperienced State College pupil.

Jarrett Prizel, 19, Daylen Dunson, 22, and Ben Boyers, 21, had all pleaded responsible to reckless murder and hazing counts over the alcohol poisoning loss of life of 20-year-old sophomore Stone Foltz following an off-campus occasion organized by the varsity’s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity in March 2021.

Niall Sweeney, 21, and Aaron Lehane, 21, each pleaded responsible to tampering with proof and hazing.

Foltz was pressured to complete a whole bottle of alcohol and was later discovered unconscious by his roommate after members of the fraternity dropped him off at his house.

His roommate referred to as 911 and he was rushed to the hospital and died three days later after he was pulled off life help.

Eight males had been finally indicted in connection to Foltz’s loss of life. Sentencing remains to be pending for 3 different fraternity members.

Prizel was sentenced to twenty-eight days in jail and two years’ probation. Dunson acquired a 21-day jail time period and three years of probation, whereas Sweeney was given a 14-day jail sentence and two years of probation, a choose dominated Friday. They had been moreover sentenced to serve 28 days of home arrest.

Boyers and Lehane had been every sentenced to twenty-eight days of home arrest and two years’ probation.

Foltz’s dad and mom, Shari and Cory Foltz, stated in a Thursday assertion “there shall be no closure for our household till hazing is completely eradicated on faculty campuses.”
