August 2022 Theme: Planting Seeds for the Life You Want | Wit & Delight

One of many gadgets on my summer time bucket listing this yr was to deliberately plan how I spend my days, as a method to have a greater relationship with the passing of time. We’re so busy with our children, household, associates, and work that it’s straightforward to overlook moments as they’re occurring. There have been durations of my life the place I’ve discovered myself wanting again, unable to recollect the place the time went. It’s so disconcerting to have days, weeks, and months go by in a flash.

To start to fix this relationship with the passing of time, I’ve grow to be way more intentional about planning issues forward of time, primarily based on my values. By planning my time round what truly issues to me most, I’ve discovered myself extra thoughtfully experiencing life fairly than merely letting issues occur to me.

This August on Wit & Delight, our theme is about planting seeds.

It’s about planning and organizing our lives round values we wish to foster, objectives we wish to meet, and experiences we wish to prioritize.

August is a time to arrange for the approaching contemporary begin of the autumn season. It’s a time to revisit any objectives we might have made for ourselves earlier within the yr and assume by way of how we will carry them to (or nearer to) fruition. It’s a time to think about what we would like the remainder of the yr to carry.

I’m already on this mindset of planning and group, which is much from my pure inclination. I’ve my youngsters’ faculty calendars written down and we’re already speaking about our plans for the vacations. I’m additionally aiming to make progress on among the larger W&D tasks I’ve had within the works.

Start to plant the seeds for the life you need, irrespective of how small they might be at first. Your future self will thanks.

As we enter August, I encourage you to think about the methods wherein planting seeds has benefited you in life. In what methods has preparation and forethought led to raised outcomes? What objectives are most essential to you proper now? What small steps can you start to take that may put you on the trail to reaching them?

Start to plant the seeds for the life you need, irrespective of how small they might be at first. Your future self will thanks.

This August on W&D, I’ll be sharing my weekly work routine, my ideas on our kitchen transform after one yr of residing with it, and the method (and reveal) of our basement hearth venture. I’ll even be sharing a wrap-up submit on my spending freeze and the contemporary perspective on spending I’ll be conserving in thoughts going ahead. Keep tuned for this and oh a lot extra all through the month forward!
