LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) — VMI coach Scott Wachenheim, who guided the Keydets to their first successful marketing campaign since 1981 and their first back-to-back successful seasons since 1961-62, is stepping down after eight seasons.
Wachenheim made the announcement Sunday on his Twitter and Fb pages. The varsity confirmed the transfer to The Related Press in an electronic mail.
In his assertion, the 60-year-old Wachenheim stated: “I imagine I have to step again from VMI and reassess with Karla, as a companion, our future and the following chapter of our lives. VMI is a difficult place and I’ve beloved working to search out methods to win.”
