A 4.2 magnitude earthquake adopted by a powerful aftershock rattled Southern California early Wednesday morning, awaking hundreds of individuals.
There have been no rapid studies of injury or accidents.

The quake struck at 2 a.m. and was centered offshore, 16 kilometers south of Malibu Seaside and due west of Los Angeles, at a depth of 14 kilometers, in response to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was adopted by a 3.5 magnitude aftershock at 2:03 a.m. and progressively weaker aftershocks at 2:22 a.m. and a pair of:38 a.m.
The temblor prompted the Los Angeles Hearth Division to enter earthquake mode, which concerned a strategic survey of all main “areas of concern,” LAFD mentioned.
“Your LAFD accomplished a strategic 470 square-mile survey of the Metropolis of Los Angeles following the 4.2M earthquake close to Malibu. No harm or accidents had been reported and regular operational mode has resumed,” LAFD introduced at 2:45 a.m.
No tsunami warning was issued by the Nationwide Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

In accordance with the California Division of Conservation, the strongest quake ever recorded within the Golden State measured magnitude 7.9 and struck Fort Tejon on Jan. 9, 1857.
